The pleasure boat, with 141 meters in length, has a level of equipment that makes it one of the most exclusive in the world.

The Port of Algeciras is much more than container ships and bulk carriers. From time to time, unique vessels dedicated to the construction of infrastructures or authentic floating luxury vessels make an appearance on its docks.

This is the case of the super yacht M/Y Yas, which makes a stopover this weekend for provisioning in the north dock of the Port of Algeciras. The M/Y Yas has been sailing since 1981 under the Cayman Islands flag and has just been refitted for the pleasure and enjoyment of its wealthy owner.

Everything about this vessel is colossal. From its size, with 141 meters in length, which places it as one of the largest in the world in its class, to its value (more than 180 million dollars) and its comfort equipment designed by Jacques Pierre Jean’s studio. The M/Y Yas is built on the hull of a former Dutch-built naval frigate, which is noticeable in its side design.

She can accommodate up to 60 guests, with a crew of another 56 to ensure the highest level of care for her users who are provided with amenities such as a helipad, spa, swimming pool, garages, swimming area and elevators. Its exterior design is characterized by a wide vaulted glass wall surrounding the front section of the upper decks and behind which the owner’s suite with private terrace is located. More than 500 pieces of glass were used in its construction, each of them special castings, which the designers admit was the most technically challenging part of the job.

Dynamically, the M/Y Yas features a steel hull and composite superstructure with teak decks. The whole is powered by two MTU diesel engines capable of a top speed of 26 knots and cruising comfortably at 23 knots.
